What is the sane purpose to closing off a lane and having two police oficers guiding cars through the lanes? Did you just set a scanner for cars to go through to alert you when they spot a trouble maker?
Go do some proper work like catching snatch thieves and rapists, I seriously had enough.

Bonus time is end of this month, 3 days later then our usual salary day of 28th.
What shall i do with the money this time? Or more like, where the money will HAVE to go?
Credit card bills, yes i have finally succumb to the plastic card that spells C O N V E N I E N C E. Those stupid days of bringing 6k, wads of 50s to buy a watch and 3k, wads of 50s and 10s to buy a camera are finally gone. Better be safe then sorry but has created that devil that tells you, don't worry, pay it off at the end of the month. BUT no one told me that the well will be dry at the end of the month!
The camera lens that i bought ahead of bonus time. Second hand and in desperate need of a buyer, so what to do?
A Bose IPOD dock - portable music speakers - RM 1400 - RM 1700, a beauty, a true beauty. Perfect for my new house and my new room.
A holiday @ Pangkor Laut - RM799 per person.
Shit, before the list goes on, if there is any left, fixed deposit.
I just can't trust the stock market, worse then a yoyo and faster then a rollercoaster going up and down and round and round.

Were you stuck at a jam last weekend?
I find it meaningless that all the police officers does at a roadblock site is to show off their machine guns, wave you past without more then a squint at the eye at you.
Is that enough to stop a person from (a) rallying (b) from committing robbery or any other crimes that the police was meant to "stop" in the first place and (c) make Malaysia any safer?
Furthermore they choose sites that they know will either
(a) clog up the entire city at the road; i.e. block off the main path from Klang before the Federal Highway toll heading towards KL; or
(b) A 2nd alternative path next to it which is easily accessible upon sighting that roadblock
So what if that person was really going to rally, are their faces painted with the words "Trouble"? Or do they have a scanner at their eyes to say "Freak, you are coming with us". How effective was the method before they decide to implement?
What about weapons in my car boot, are you going to check me?
If the public continues to be part of the political chessboard instead of reaping the rewards from the game, it can only get worse.
Like how a Typical Malaysian would say "Do something larr"

Looks like i was right after all
The reply from MCA
Looks like i wasnt the only one shocked to the announcement. A time when you should try to avoid the matter of race and skin colour, it is exactly the same grounds that people will use against you.
As my saying goes (although i dont really use it all the time), speak from the brain and not from the mouth because what comes out from your mouth without processing your brain is as good as shit.

Things you read on the newspaper
It is funny that "racial discrimination and differences" was a big hoo haa in our rollercoaster political world. In the many years that i have read newspaper excluding the 3 years i was away in Australia, this year by far has the most insane amounts of articles relating to anything to you-are-not-doing-this right, i-am-right and what-is-this-all-about right up to i-am-still-at-a-disadvantage topics.
Now that i decide to switch back on this avenue to grumble and hopefully not write anything seditious, i stumbled across this article on the Star.
Malay students affected
In a nutshell, someone commented that giving up more scholarships to non-bumis i.e. Chinese like me and Indians alike WOULD AFFECT bumi scholarship allocation. If it did not make sense to him, obviously an increase of something would decrease another.
The impression that i got was that someone would like to have the "we-should-go-back-to-the-good-old-days" where bumis could enjoy the same amount of scholarships as they had as before.
Back in those days, non-bumis only had a chance of 200 seats out of 2000 scholarships available so bumis can happily get scholarships and study overseas of their choice. Someone is definitely not happy with the men out there who fought for non-bumis to have an allocation of the increased 45% of the seats available.
Then again, someone quoted that increasing the amount of scholarships would be an alternative but quoted "bumis would not be affected".
Truth of the matter this brings up one of my personal experience. I had met a few bumi scholars back in my university days, and yes, we do have genuine and excellent students making the grades but one that stood up in my mind till this very day was this girl who commented
"Nevermind la, fail can take again what? After all i am under scholarship"
God bless the soul who approved her application.
The whole point of increasing the amount of non-bumis scholarships available is because life is fair and whoever granted people knowledge and brains have given to the people in Malaysia fairly.
The point to note is that bumis and non bumis aside, that we cant be complacent and hope that people would spoon feed you right up till the day you graduated. We have to work hard and strive alone, and if the scholarship comes along, it comes along.
The mentality of people nowadays is nevermind, if my parents cant send me, i go and apply for scholarship. Nevermind that i am already spending time "lepaking" and not thinking of how i could finance the move myself.
All i can say is that lets hope the scholarships are given fairly and people who gets it would seriously appreciate this gift and for those who did not get their scholarships, it is not the end of the world. There are scholarships available at multi-national companies, other government linked companies, the government is not the only avenue of help.

For the Kick
If i had not been looking at some Nuffnang stats lately and pondering about life, i wouldnt have noticed the following things:
- Its been close to 6 months since i last posted anything here. I guess it was too much to blog enough on my main blog, let alone operate another blog that would have absolutely no relevance to food.
- I totally stopped going to happy hours citing health, diet and burning wallet as valid reasons.
- I realise theres life other then blogging i.e. meet bloggers in real life. There is no need to blog EVERY SINGLE DAY. Then again, blogging once every 6 months isnt exactly what you should do.
- The usual hoo haa in our Bolehland politics is getting on the verge of frustrating and becoming a please-oh-not-again mode. It just doesnt make sense anymore, we dont know who is right and wrong, who is clean and smut and i think everyone just wants to get on with life.
So for the kick of it, an entry after 6 months. Lets do something again soon, i hope

One after the other
I find it amusing how we Malaysians are so attention seeking. It is almost as if, they all possess the want to be on screen just like the famous Hollywood stars.
In a span of three weeks, we had two "public gatherings" so to speak that tried ever so hard to stir some news in our local newspapers and probably deserve a column in an international newspaper.
Firstly, we had the "Bersih" rally. The objective was simple, the public did not believe the election process was not fair, the public are not happy with why they are forever stagnant at where they stand and thus they blamed something and someone. Huge crowds of people throng the Agong palace to submit a memorandum.
The memorandum has been submitted, is there anything done about it? I applaud the crowd for trying to show that they are trying to do something to improve the country and not become a silent critic like i am. The conclusion is, everyone wants the best for themselves, whether you are the public, or the government and no one wants to give in. Am i right or not? I shall leave it there for you to ponder about.
The second demonstration happened yesterday, dwelling on marginalisation of their forefathers when they were bought into Malaya 150 years ago. Being the minority population in the country, reasons were put forward to ask for compensation of USD 1 million for every Indian soul in Malaysia from England.
To me, again it was a lame excuse to show that the people are not afraid to speak. If you wanted to sound that to whoever you wanted to, please dont use such an excuse. Despite the lack of support the people appear to get, there is always words like self-determination and brains. Everyone possesses these two traits and it is up to you to use it. Whether you decide to continue being a poor man or try to do something to change it, is up to you. If not, what is the difference between you and the beggar on the streets?
Again the conclusion is everyone wants the best for themselves, whether you are the public, or the government and no one wants to give in.
I think thats enough for now. Thought this may sound abit too serious on a foodie blog so i am sounding it out here in 4 empty walls. Kind of feel good now.

Its about time..Kiasuness everywhere..
I realise its been already 1 month since i took an effort to put in an entry. Gone are the days when we want to blog about alcohol and the promise that i would post of intoxicated girls willing to pose for a camera. Infact, even my partner is way too busy to even update his own blog so lets not talk about his contribution here. Instead, i have decided to just take over this blog and blog about whatever comes to mind.
So what comes to my mind since i blogged about my friend's cat and the happenings in Malaysia? True to my words, we have yet to get an update on the investigations of fraud happening all over our country, i cant wait for next year to get the same report. Yes, we have finally launch a doctor to space to become the first malaysian astronaut. I have heard rumours that we as malaysian tax payers contributed up to USD 100 million to get him the seat to outer space. Is that something that we shall be proud of? Yes hes up to outer space after the americans and the russians but so what? Seriously all the media hype, for what? I think we have much to do in Malaysia then to be kiasu enough to send someone up to space instead of worrying about our national car maker.
Proton, a common name associated to cheap cars for the last 20 years. I would classify it as a serial joke because there has been a reputable car maker wanting to get a slice of Proton but apparently despite lots of losses, we dont seem to want to sell? Another act of kiasuness perhaps..
Lastly, apparently being a true Malaysian i have also been kiasu enough trying my very best to update two blogs, perhaps too kiasu also?
